Facilities Management is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to perform routine and semi-skilled tasks related to the HVAC trade independently or part of a crew; such as, alterations and repair of equipment and/or assist journeypersons with installation and preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment, compressors, and auxiliary equipment used in the manufacture and distribution of steam, chilled water, compressed air and distilled water. The incumbent will perform various other routine or semi-skilled duties related to construction trades including those tasks normally performed by a Facilities Worker.

Job Requirements

General knowledge, practice and procedures of HVAC trade sufficient to provide routine assistance to journeypersons. Ability to perform routine and semi-skilled tasks assisting Service Engineers and Steam Operating Engineers.
Ability to make minor repairs/installations, or perform preventative maintenance on a variety of University equipment/systems. Ability to make minor repairs, replacements, or installations using a variety of trade skills and equipment/tools.
Working knowledge of various hand tools, power equipment and supplies of the HVAC trade.
Skill in working independently or part of a work crew; follows through on assignments with minimal direction.
Must possess California Driver's License, Class C and ability to drive a university vehicle in the course of duties.
