The Master Plumber in Charge serves as the Legal Master Plumber in charge for Century College. This position will operate motor vehicles and must possess a valid vehicle operator's license.

Position Responsibilities:
Respond to plumbing work orders submitted on Century's work order system and other requests as assigned by the Foreman so that normal work will involve timely response to work orders.
Work directly with Mechanical Contractors, Vendors, inspectors, and engineering firm.
Evaluate condition of campus plumbing/piping systems.
Utilizing information obtained in #3, develop and implement a written preventive maintenance program for Century College plumbing/piping systems, and associated devices.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Assist other trades as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job):
Minnesota Master Plumber's license.
Must possess a current/valid driver's license with a good or acceptable driving record. This is required in order to drive campus vehicles.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to complete physical tasks, including regular bending, stooping, lifting*, standing and possess full range of movement. *Lifting up to 40 pounds frequently and as much as up to 80 pounds occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of State Plumbing Code and standard plumbing practices, techniques, materials and tools sufficient to ensure that work and materials comply with code.
Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints and plumbing specifications sufficient to interpret, modify and follow them to complete plumbing projects.
RPZ Backflow protection license.
Asbestos operations and maintenance license certification.
Knowledge of MnSCU, State of Minnesota, and Century College's policies and procedures.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades. Ability to work safety and efficiently when performing the job duties. To ensure that Century College's vision is followed within the proper plumbing codes and material.
Skilled in using hand tools (e.g. pipe cutters, benders, threaded, wrenches) and arc and acetylene welding equipment sufficient to install, maintain and repair water sewer and gas systems and plumbing fixtures in state buildings.
