Locksmith

University of Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Locksmith.

Applications will be accepted until 2/4/2022.

The locksmith will be responsible for the maintenance of all door hardware, locksets, keypads, card access readers and electronic keyboxes in a specified group of buildings. They will also need to be familiar with other campus buildings to back up co-workers.

This position includes:
  • cutting new keys
  • replacing and repinning cores as needed
  • work on card readers and keyboxes will include some low voltage electrical work, so some proficiency with electrical work would be a plus.



The locksmith will receive and modify work orders in the AiM Work Management system. They will also need to become competent working in the Lenel card access system, the KeySystems keybox system and ultimately in the Simple K core and key tracking software. The locksmith will work an oncall schedule and will be available to respond to emergency calls as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

The following special knowledge, abilities or skills would be helpful:
- Locksmith skills,
- Computers with ability to learn and use various software systems
- Customer service

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous technical school or apprenticeship program experience
3-4 years of experience with the following:
- Locks and door hardware
- Access Control Systems
- Key systems
