Summary of Position:

Meridian is seeking a highly motivated and organized Manager, Facilities. The position requires hands-on maintenance and operations experience, as well as the ability to ensure efficient management of overall facilities. The successful candidate must be resourceful, able to work independently and adjust easily to changing priorities. Strong written and oral communication and time management skills required. Work requires an exquisite attention to detail and exceptional organization skills.

This position is located in Washington D.C. on 3 contiguous acres with approximately 75,000 sf of historic building space. Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position is expected to be on-site, with minor flexibility for off-site work. Effective January 4, 2022, all Meridian staff are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved. This position is considered essential and may be required to work during an emergency closing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise daily service work to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively

  • Work closely and collaboratively with House Manager and events staff to anticipate needs and provide a high level of customer satisfaction, to include staff and maintenance scheduling

  • Willingness and ability to work a varied work schedule, assist the team with event setups and/or weather events as needed to support Meridian's schedule.

  • Day-to-day oversight of operations and maintenance program, including maintaining and managing CMMS system

  • Develop and implement systems to maintain equipment inventories, compliance activities, maintenance records, and budget documentation

  • Assist in the development and establishment of policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations

  • Assist in the development, administration, and monitoring of annual operating budgets for utilities, preventive maintenance, repairs, supplies, and equipment procurement

  • Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience overseeing maintenance and operations

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

  • Experience in historic environments a plus

  • Conversational and/or fluency in Spanish a plus


Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro and CMMS software experience preferred

  • Experience in project controls and contract administration


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Superior organizational and management skills with attention to detail and dedication to providing the best service possible; strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to coordinate the work of numerous skilled and unskilled trades and craftsmen simultaneously, while minimizing impact on Meridian's day-to-day activities.

  • Extensive experience, critical thinking skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, along with the ability to work independently and problem solve

  • Ability to manage and lead a team in a variety of maintenance and event related activities

  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world

  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds of boxes and equipment for various event needs

  • Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
