POSITION SUMMARY
This Job Summary summarizes this role's primary duties and responsibilities at the Frye Art Museum. Employees must maintain a high degree of flexibility in our rapidly changing environment and, as such, may be required to perform additional duties beyond the scope described here from time to time. The Assistant Maintenance Facilities Manager may be called outside the regularly scheduled work hours to respond to emergent situations.

WAGE RANGE:$25 - $30 Per Hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilities

  • Ability to perform building maintenance functions.

  • Perform electrical and plumbing repairs.

  • Maintenance of air handling and heating systems (HVAC)

  • Painting projects

  • Other special projects as they arise.

  • Monitor pest control.

  • Landscaping and grounds maintenance working with an outside contractor.

  • Waste clean-up and disposal


Events

  • Set up events according to the associated Checklist & Floor plan the hosting Department distributes.

  • Audio and lighting support/lead for events

  • After the event, clean up and take down


Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE FINANCE & OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
The Finance & Operations Departments contribute to fulfilling the Museum's mission by providing a wide range of services to both internal and external customers. These include finance and accounting, facilities management, security services, a retail store and café, information technology, and risk management. The work is accomplished under the direction of the Chief Financial & Operating Officer and performed by more than twenty-five employees.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 90% of the time is spent standing/walking both within and outside the Museum. A balance of time (approximately 10%) is spent sitting at a desk.

  • Speaking/Hearing: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is necessary for moving material and equipment.

  • Vision: Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively use the computer screens.

  • Stooping/Kneeling: The ability to stoop and kneel is necessary.

  • Reaching/Handling: Good manual dexterity is necessary for computer keyboard use and when working with equipment and tools.
