Job Summary
The Pressure Washing Technician utilizes high-pressure cleaning equipment to perform preventative and scheduled maintenance of building and grounds at all current and future university properties. The Pressure Washing Technician completes semi-skilled general building maintenance tasks as needed.

Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Utilizes a concrete surface cleaner and other pressure washing equipment to perform preventive maintenance, scheduled work, and complete service requests.
- Sprays sidewalks, stairs, parking lots, waste enclosures, parking garages, gutters, grills, pools, curbs, buildings, windows and other areas of campus with spray nozzle or immerses objects in washing and rinsing solutions to remove debris.
- Utilizes ladders, an aerial lift or a scissor lift for lower and upper level, indoor/outdoor window cleaning. Utilizes appropriate safety gear as required.
- Completes routine preventative maintenance such as replacing fittings, checking scrubbers, inspecting sprayers, lubricating bearings and other preventative maintenance of pressure washing equipment as necessary.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Maintains records and logs of preventative maintenance and repair history, supply inventory that is used, costs, time and other information requested.
- Spot cleans, repairs, and maintains upholstered furniture in lobbies and classrooms.
- Complies with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, university policy, and accepted safe work practices.
Other Duties:
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time related experience utilizing pressure washing equipment and/or general building repairs and maintenance.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in higher education or a residential setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of and experience using trailer mounted pressure washer, aerial lift, scissor lift, upholstery cleaning equipment, hand tools, and basic equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
- Knowledge of facility maintenance software and mobile applications, including email, text, video and photo messaging.
- Knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, materials, pressure washing equipment, and maintenance related processes.
- Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes an equitable environment.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students and the community in a service-oriented environment.
- Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
- Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, logs, and files.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and situations, and ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
Pay Grade: 14
Primary Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 40 hours per week.
