The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Electrician II in the (HVAC & Electrical Dept.), located at (DSC/Facilities Services). Hours are (M-F 6:30am-3:00pm). Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.
Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Knowledge:
- Electrical systems up to and including 15,000 volts.
- Familiar with high and low voltage test and troubleshooting equipment, electrical meters, power tools, and computers to maintain districtwide lighting control systems.
- Health and safety regulations.
- Methods of design, construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of complex electrical equipment systems.
- Modern practices, materials, and processes of the electrical trade.
- New electrical systems, terminology, and equipment.
- Operation and use of computers and basic software applications necessary for area of specialty.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Safety gear for working in extreme heights, climbing, and working on high voltage.
- State and local electrical codes, safety orders, and ordinances.
- Tools, methods, materials, and equipment used in electrical maintenance.
- Wood-framing, concrete, and masonry construction related to electrical work.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Layout, assemble, install, test, and repair electrical fixtures, equipment, and light and power systems.
- Make simple arithmetic calculations.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Plan and direct the work of skilled electricians.
- Read blue-prints, diagrams, drawings, and project and construction plans.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Work from wire diagrams, drawings, and blueprints.
- Work safely.
Licenses:
Pay Information:
Range 32 ($5,647.70- $9,015.02) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step A ($5,647.70), Step B ($5,930.09) with 18 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience or up to Step C ($6,226.59) with 36 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience. For purposes of salary placement, 7.5 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) of directly related coursework from a regularly accredited institution will be equivalent to one (1) year of job experience. Step C is the maximum step placement for a new hire, and this is non-negotiable at this time. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA and is non-negotiable. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment.
