Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Facilities leads the construction and energy units, overseeing projects and initiatives that align with the College's goals. This role manages a team of Project Managers, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery. Responsibilities include analyzing energy use, ensuring emissions compliance, and developing cost-effective energy management plans. Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities, the Assistant Director provides strategic direction and ensures seamless integration of construction and energy efforts across the College.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering management from an accredited college or university or equivalent related experience required.
- Possession of a Professional Energy Manager Certification (CEM) preferred.
- Experience
- Four to five (4-5) years experience in energy management, mechanical systems design, construction and/or maintenance required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing design and construction projects required.
- Extensive knowledge of general construction (new construction and renovation projects), knowledge of construction law, building codes and life safety codes, accessibility codes, and other related legal and safety requirements required.
- Knowledge of energy management program development required. Requires an understanding of the electrical utility rate structure and how it is applied to calculate utility bills required.
- Ability to manage a budget and personnel required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
- More than five (5) years of above experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Hiring Range:
14 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $97,373, based on experience and education.
Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
