JOB SUMMARY:
This position will utilize electrical design expertise, provide quality assurance Design Review services, including but not limited to reviewing conceptualizations, studies, plans, specifications, and construction submittals to confirm conformance with applicable codes, standards and University Facilities Standards. Provide the analysis, development, and design of electrical projects for campus buildings. Assist in the project scoping to assess the needs of projects. Provide support to other units. Provide technical opinions, reviews and documents to provide safe, reliable, comfortable, productive, sustainable, and cost-effective facilities to support the Mission of the University.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
2. Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
3. In-depth (five (5) years minimum) progressively responsible administrative experience in engineering design of electrical systems, lighting, fire alarm, and related fire safety systems.
4. Demonstrated knowledge & experience of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and/or building automation and/or control systems.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
1. Occasional field visits for projects in design or construction. Use personal protective equipment, common sense, and safety training when on construction sites.
