Perform skilled trades work in operating and maintaining boilers and associated equipment of University owned property. Coordinate with contracted partners and University staff to maintain required regulatory information, coordinate required inspections and coordinate vendor support. Currently the anticipated shift for this position will be M-F, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm. Assignment requires availability to work weekends and evening shifts as needed and respond to emergency calls. Required to carry pagers. If required by job duties, employee must be able to fulfill the University requirements concerning issuance and use of University keys.

Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency with valid driver's license. Valid City of Grand Rapids High Pressure Boiler Operator's license or equivalent certification for 1st or 2nd class stationary engineer per State of Michigan Board of Boiler Rules. No additional work experience needed beyond what is required to obtain the City of Grand Rapids Boiler Engineer License or 2nd Class Stationary Engineer license.
