Maintenance Technician – HVAC II



Ringling College of Art and Design is seeking a full-time HVAC Maintenance Technician II. Ringling College is located near beautiful downtown Sarasota, Florida and Gulf-of-Mexico beaches. Additional information about the College is available at www.ringling.edu.



The mission of the Facilities Operations Department is to provide safe, clean, functional and sustainable environments with a common goal of supporting students, faculty, and staff in their endeavors to achieve academic excellence. Members of Facilities Operations may be required to work weekends, holidays, during emergency situations, and may be subject to "on-call" responsibilities.



The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual that has a desire to provide the highest quality service. The successful candidate will be capable of working safely with minimal supervision and have the knowledge and skill necessary to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment and building automation controls; will be able to use equipment such as ladders, lifts and diagnostic meters as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks effectively. . The successful candidate will come into regular contact with co-workers and supervisors along with occasional and casual contact with visitors, students, staff members, faculty, etc. The Main Campus and Museum Campus are world class facilities comprised of over 65 acres, 100 + buildings, and more than 1,600 students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Successful completion of accredited HVAC trade school or three (3) years of experience in HVAC trade.

  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license




Preferred Qualifications:

  • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certification

  • Valid Universal EPA card

  • Experience troubleshooting and programming Building Automation Controls – preferably Trane, Allerton, or Daikin
